Let It Breathe
Where the lung is like a horse, and the mind is the rider: if there is something wrong with the horse, the rider will not be able to ride properly. The work breaks down the everyday experience of space to create a disorientated environment.
Let It Breathe was a solo exhibition commissioned by 'a space' arts at the Hidden Wardrobe in Southampton. Referring to the artist's personal experience of lung surgeries during the lockdowns, the display meditates on chance as a conductor that orchestrates our encounter with the world. Lung-like sculptures fill the exhibition space, representing the significance of this vital organ whilst exploring the phenomenology of spatial perception.
